Geographe Electrical and Communications (GEC) is a WA-owned electrical contractor delivering specialist services across Western Australia’s mining and resources sector. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and long-term partnerships, GEC continues to support major projects across the state.

We are currently seeking experienced Fixed Plant Electricians & Electrical Supervisors (S26 & WHS exam qualified) for an immediate start.

These are various rosters (i.e. 2:1, 8:6 & 7:7), offering competitive mining rates and potential ongoing opportunities.

These roles suit electricians & electrical supervisors with experience in Electrical Fixed Plant and for the right candidate long-term career opportunities within a safety-focused WA company.

Key Responsibilities

Supervisors

  • Supervise electricians and contractors on shift

  • Allocate work, manage priorities, and monitor performance

  • Mentor apprentices and junior electricians

  • Enforce compliance with WA mining and electrical regulations

  • Lead risk assessments and ensure controls are implemented

  • Manage permits and ensure safe systems of work

  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions

Fixed Plant Electricians

  • Diagnose and repair faults on fixed plant equipment (crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens)

  • Maintain motors, VSDs, switchgear, PLC-controlled systems

  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance

  • Verification of electrical installations

  • Compliance with site safety systems and procedures

  • Working collaboratively within mining maintenance and project teams


Essential Requirements

  • Electrical Supervisors - S26 & WHS exam qualified

  • WA-Grade Electrical Licence

  • Minimum 2 years’ fixed plant, project electrical experience

  • Current CPR & LV Rescue

  • White Card

  • Unrestricted WA Driver’s Licence

  • Working at Heights

  • WP / EWP Licence

  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical & D&A

  • National Police Clearance


Highly Regarded

  • FIFO mining experience

  • HV Switching

  • Forklift or Telehandler

  • Fixed plant electrical maintenance, shutdowns and breakdowns

  • Electrical fault finding and repairs

  • Project electrical works including upgrades, installations, and modifications

  • Planned maintenance and shutdown activities

  • Compliance with site safety systems and procedures

  • Working collaboratively within mining maintenance and project teams
