About the Role
This role is suited to a qualified electrician who enjoys working in a team-based workshop and is interested in building their skills across a range of electrical systems.
You’ll be involved in assembling and working on different types of power and control systems, including:
General AC and DC power systems
Battery-backed systems
Switchboards and changeover systems
Backup power (UPS and generators)
Basic solar systems
Data and communication cabling
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Workshop Manager and Supervisor to support project delivery
Assemble and wire electrical systems in accordance with drawings
Contribute to the timely completion of workshop projects
Read and interpret electrical diagrams and layouts
Assist with the installation and connection of battery systems
Support the setup of control and monitoring wiring
Collaborate with and support apprentices and team members
Adhere to safety procedures and relevant Australian standards
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Trade-qualified Electrician with a current Queensland Electrical Licence
Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4836 and relevant LV standards
Strong work ethic and adaptability in project-driven workshop environments
Highly Regarded:
Open Cablers Registration with endorsements
Commercial electrical experience in a workshop environment
Experience mentoring apprentices
