About the Role

This role is suited to a qualified electrician who enjoys working in a team-based workshop and is interested in building their skills across a range of electrical systems.

You’ll be involved in assembling and working on different types of power and control systems, including:

  • General AC and DC power systems

  • Battery-backed systems

  • Switchboards and changeover systems

  • Backup power (UPS and generators)

  • Basic solar systems

  • Data and communication cabling


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Workshop Manager and Supervisor to support project delivery

  • Assemble and wire electrical systems in accordance with drawings

  • Contribute to the timely completion of workshop projects

  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams and layouts

  • Assist with the installation and connection of battery systems

  • Support the setup of control and monitoring wiring

  • Collaborate with and support apprentices and team members

  • Adhere to safety procedures and relevant Australian standards

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Trade-qualified Electrician with a current Queensland Electrical Licence

  • Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4836 and relevant LV standards

  • Strong work ethic and adaptability in project-driven workshop environments

Highly Regarded:

  • Open Cablers Registration with endorsements

  • Commercial electrical experience in a workshop environment

  • Experience mentoring apprentices
