Electrician – Karratha, Western Australia

Electrician Casual – FIFO 2:1 (Karratha, WA)

Coastal Electrical and Data is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our growing team in Karratha, WA.
This is a casual FIFO 2:1 roster role, working across a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial and mining projects throughout the Pilbara.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical solutions while being part of a supportive, professional team that values safety, growth and teamwork.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Electrical installations, maintenance and repairs across domestic, commercial and industrial projects

  • Working on local and site-based projects throughout the Pilbara

  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and specifications

  • Fault finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving

  • Ensuring all works are completed safely and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations

  • Supervising and mentoring apprentices

  • Providing clear communication and professional advice to clients

  • Coordinating with other trades, site personnel and project managers

  • Completing job documentation and reports accurately

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified commercial/industrial electrician with experience on commercial and/or mine site projects

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Capable of leading a small team when required

  • Strong fault-finding and control wiring skills

  • Solid knowledge of Australian electrical standards and safety practices

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Commitment to safe work practices

  • Split system AC installation experience preferred but not essential

Requirements

  • Electrical Trade Qualification with a current WA Electrical License

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repairs

  • Experience working on commercial, industrial and mine site projects

  • Strong fault-finding skills in a commercial/industrial environment

    • Experience with control circuits and PLC-controlled equipment highly regarded

  • Current Australian Driver’s License

  • High Risk Work Licenses

    • EWP

    • Working at Heights

  • White Card

  • First Aid / CPR / LV Rescue (or willingness to obtain)

Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and safe work practices

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a range of environments, including:

    • Outdoor and indoor settings

    • Working at heights

    • Confined spaces

  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment and materials

  • Ability to pass pre-employment and site medicals, including drug and alcohol testing (LabDAS) when required

What We Offer

  • $75–$80 per hour, depending on experience

  • FIFO 2:1 roster

  • Fully equipped work vehicle (battery tools + multifunction meter supplied)

  • Accommodation provided for FIFO

  • Meals allowance while residing in Karratha FIFO

  • Option to go full-time after 3 Months
