About the Role
This is a full time, permanent opportunity for a licensed Electrician to join our Western NSW Division, based out of Mudgee. Working on a 7 days on/7 days off DIDO roster (Sydney to Mudgee), you’ll be part of a dedicated team servicing and maintaining a wide range of fire systems across multiple mine and commercial sites.
This is a hands on field based role that includes scheduled servicing, diagnostics, fault finding and repairs to ensure compliance and safety of fire detection and suppression systems. You’ll be working with some of the industry’s best known technologies including:
Notifier, Pertronics and VESDA systems
Conventional and addressable fire detection systems
Emergency warning and evacuation systems
Fire panels and pump controls
Gaseous suppression systems
We’ll support your growth with on the job training and fire industry mentoring, making this an ideal opportunity for an Electrician who’s looking to diversify their skillset in a high demand industry.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections of fire protection equipment
Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical fire systems
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Australian Standards and site requirements
Accurately complete service reports, compliance documentation and client communications
Liaise with clients and site supervisors to report on findings and recommend actions
Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks and risk assessments
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working condition
Experience and Qualifications
Electrical Trade Qualification
NSW Electrical Licence
Willing to learn the Fire Industry
Excellent workmanship, reliability, attention to detail and ability to work in a team
A high standard of safety and a commitment to continual improvement
An ability to work independently with a high level of communication and customer service skills
An ability to prioritise and arrange service tasks and accurately complete service related documentation
Manual Drivers Licence
Desirable (or ability to obtain prior to starting):
Current Generic Generic
Current Order 43 Medical
Work at Heights Certification
Low Voltage/First Aid Certification
CPR Certifications
FPAS certifications
