Apprentice Electricians - Cairns - 1st2nd3rd or 4th year

i-LEC is a privately owned North Queensland business, based in Cairns and Townsville, specialising in electrical & civil infrastructure projects including underground distribution (Ergon UDC), traffic signal/road lighting/ITS construction and maintenance, stadium lighting, as well as a diverse range of other industrial and commercial electrical and civil works.

i-LEC is the leading provider of electrical infrastructure works in Northern Queensland, delivering many substantial projects over the past 15 years.  Our teams are highly skilled, with many long-term employees committed to our great workplace environment.

We have recently graduated 4 apprentices in our Cairns team, and are ready to recruit our next round of future Electricians. Accordingly, we are seeking expressions of interest from Apprentice Electricians at all levels (1st to 4th year) to join our Cairns team.  

We provide excellent training opportunities for apprentices, recognised by RTO, State and National Training awards, including 2026 TecNQ Apprentice of the Year and 2022 TAFE Apprentice of the Year.

All applicants should have solid results in Year 12 mathematics and a genuine interest in the electrical industry. Completion of Cert 2 Electrotechnology is highly regarded for first year applicants. 

Existing Apprentices (2nd/3rd/4th year) must have demonstrated a strong commitment to their training, including successful completion of block training attended & eProfiling/Exemplar cards up to date.

Applicants must be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors, be committed to learning and enthusiastic in their approach to all work.  A manual driver's license as well as a Construction Industry Induction (white card) are essential.

Applicants may be required to undergo a pre-employment health screen
