About the Role

As a well-established and respected company in the fire engineering and building services sector, we are expanding our team. We are seeking motivated Fire Technicians / Electricians who are looking to develop their careers and grow with the organization while contributing to our reputation for quality and service.

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Fire Technicians / Electricians to carry out inspection, testing, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of fire protection systems, emergency and exit lighting, fire detection and alarm systems, EWIS, and associated electrical equipment across residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

The successful candidates will be capable of undertaking both routine inspection and testing activities as well as identifying and rectifying defects, ensuring systems remain fully operational and compliant with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties

  • Conduct routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems.

  • Perform fault-finding, repairs, and rectification works on fire and electrical systems.

  • Test and maintain fire detection and alarm systems, emergency lighting, EWIS, and related equipment.

  • Diagnose faults and restore systems to full operational status.

  • Accurately record all work completed using web-based service platforms such as Uptick or similar.

  • Undertake system upgrades, retrofits, and modifications as required.

  • Prepare service reports, compliance records, and maintenance documentation.

  • Liaise professionally with clients, supervisors, and team members regarding system performance and project requirements.

  • Attend emergency call-outs and provide on-call support when required.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high standard of workplace health and safety.

  • Assist with project planning, coordination, and delivery as required.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and provide recommendations to clients.

Requirements

  • Current NSW Electrical Licence (essential).

  • Previous experience in the fire protection industry.

  • Experience with fire detection and alarm systems, EWIS, emergency lighting, and related fire services.

  • FPA accreditation (highly regarded).

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.

  • White Card.

  • Relevant industry certifications and training.
