About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and safety‑focused Auto Electrician to join our Wilpinjong mine site. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open-cut mine located 48 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Supervisor, the scope of your role will require you to work within the maintenance team, where you'll be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems on a wide range of heavy mobile equipment used on site

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems on heavy mining equipment (e.g., haul trucks, loaders, diggers & auxiliary equipment).
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair auto‑electrical components including lighting, wiring, starters, alternators, air‑conditioning systems, control modules & associated equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance teams to minimise downtime and improve fleet performance with availability & reliability.
  • Maintain accurate service records and follow all site safety procedures and standards.
  • Be able to work autonomously & with a team

About You

  • Trade‑qualified Auto Electrician (Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent).
  • Experience working on heavy mobile equipment in mining or civil environments.
  • Preferably experience & qualification in air conditioning & refrigerant handling
  • Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with modern electrical systems and mining OEM diagnostic tools.
  • Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to hazard identification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Valid driver's licence; additional tickets (e.g., forklift, EWP) are an advantage.

Desirable Experience

  • Open‑cut coal mining experience
  • Preferably experience with mobile plant electrical drive systems & fixed plant maintenance activities
  • SAP / CMMS experience
