Precision Fire Protection Service's is a leading provider of fire protection services, specialising in the installation and servicing of complex fire safety systems across construction and infrastructure sectors. We're seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Service team.

Position Summary

The role of Electrician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all electrical fire protection systems are operational, compliant and fault free. This role requires a strong electrical background in fire services combined with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Responsibilities and Tasks
    Conduct routine testing and inspection of electrical fire equipment, including emergency & exit lighting, various switches, batteries and power supplies.

  • Carry out installation of electrical equipment including Exit and Emergency lighting, 240V smoke alarms and 240V fire equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with all electrical fire equipment and recommend appropriate solutions.

  • Replace or repair defective components across various types of fire systems.

  • Ensure all systems are compliant with local, state, and national fire safety codes and standards.

  • Assist with Fire Testing, detection, OWS, and EWIS.

  • Assist with Gas Suppression Testing

  • Document test results meticulously and prepare comprehensive reports for compliance purposes.

  • Work collaboratively with PFPS staff, other trades & sub-contractors.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, manufacturers updates & relevant compliance standards.

  • Adhere to operational plans for the Service Division in line with Precision Fire Protection Services (PFPS) objectives. 

  • Adhere and promote the strategic objectives relating to the long-term business strategies and solutions for PFPS’s. 

  • Maintain collaborative working relationships and establish effective communication with key stakeholders (internal & external) to ensure client requirements are met.

  • Actively promote the PFPS’s values and apply all relevant workplace policies and procedures. 

  • Promote an inclusive, collaborative and supportive culture where diversity is valued.

Resource and Financial Management 

  • Contribute to the efficiency, recycling and environmental strategies in line with the PFPS’s environmental management policy. 

  • Assist in maintaining account and expenditure thresholds through correct selection and procurement of materials and consumables.

  • Strive to ensure ongoing profitability is maintained for the Service Division.

  • Assist in the review of field processes and procedures.

Workplace Health & Safety

  • Adhere to WHS policies and procedures ensuring compliance within the Service Division.

  • Ensure attendance to toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  1. Certificate or trade qualification in electrical and fire systems.

  2. Minimum of 2 years' experience in repair, servicing & commissioning fire protection systems.

  3. Strong diagnostic, analytical & problem-solving skills.

  4. Familiarity with relevant standards, codes & compliance requirements.

  5. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.

  6. A proactive approach to work, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail.

  7. Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.

  8. Demonstrated experience in computer literacy
