In the past 12 Months we have seen growing success in our Hazardous Area Electrical Services and are looking to reinforce our expansion of this service line by bringing in an experienced hazardous area electrician to help deliver the consistent high-quality services our clients have come to expect to our growing client base and to support our current team of EEHA Inspectors.


The Position

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Hazardous Area Electrician who is interested in stamping their mark on the industry. The opportunity we have available is for a fully licensed (WA) electrician to join our team of professional technicians and inspectors to deliver hazardous area electrical works to our clients throughout the industrial and O&G Sectors.


Summary:

  • Permanent full-time position

  • Perth based role Monday - Friday, but there is a frequent requirement for regional site work & offshore work (Additional remuneration applied during remote works)

Responsibilities

  • Being a part of multi-disciplinary campaign works

  • Overseeing small electrical installations, both onshore and offshore

  • Carrying out EEHA inspections, maintenance, repairs

  • Provide technical support to less experienced team members

  • Assist management team to ensure clients requirements & expectations are met


The Candidate

The candidate must:

  • Be driven to overcome challenges

  • Be well-disciplined and self-motivated

  • Be experienced in carrying out electrical installations to the highest standards, including testing and commissioning of electrical systems

  • Be experienced at installing hazardous area equipment including barrier glands, conduit seals and earthing systems

  • Be able to follow work instructions and interpret wiring diagrams and P&ID drawings in order to effectively fault find on electrical systems

  • Be able to perform electrical inspections and safety testing of electrical apparatus including motors

  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Have basic mechanical fitting understanding

  • Be able to carry out design of complex and simple electrical systems

  • Be confident at selection and sourcing of appropriate electrical products

  • Be willing to contribute to on-site electrical and EEHA technical sales to resolve changing client requirements

  • Have strong task planning and forward-thinking skills

  • Be willing to question, make decisions and implement operational improvements

  • Have good knowledge of legislative requirements and AS/NZS Standards

  • Be able to work autonomously both locally and remotely with good organisational skills


Pre-requisites

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30811)

  • Electrical Workers Licence (WA)

  • Certificate IV Hazardous Area – Electrical (UEE42622)

  • Construction (White Card)

  • Driver's Licence (manual)

  • Must have the right to work in Australia

  • HUET/BOSIET


Desirable

  • Instrumentation Trade Certificate or Cert IV

  • Work Safely at Heights

  • Provide First Aid

  • LV Rescue/CPR
