Are you ready to accelerate your career with a respected and established brand? This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, expand your technical expertise, develop a specialised skill set and contribute to the success of a fast-growing business.

Burton Civil Maintenance is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our team. This hands-on role will see you working across diverse projects involving traffic signals and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), supporting the safe and efficient operation of critical road infrastructure.

While experience in traffic lights or ITS is advantageous, it is not essential. If you are a licensed electrician who is motivated, eager to learn, and interested in developing your electrical foundation within a specialised and growing sector, we are willing to provide training in this space.

The ideal candidate will hold a current NSW Electrical Licence and a White Card.

You will play a key role in the construction, maintenance, and inspection of ITS assets, performing both planned maintenance and urgent operational tasks in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability, technical skill, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork will be essential to your success.

Why You'll Thrive

  • Master Traffic Signal systems from ground zero, with no prior ITS experience needed.

  •  Build on your electrical foundation while learning Australian & TfNSW Standards

  • Maintain and upgrade systems that keep communities moving safely

Key Capabilities

  • Construction and reconstruction of assets such as Traffic Control Signals (TCS), Variable Message Signs (VMS) and CCTV Cameras

  • Inspection, testing and fault finding in accordance with Australian Standards and TfNSW requirements

  • Installation and modification of new and existing Traffic Signal and ITS assets

  • Ensuring compliance with safety and operational regulations

  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with company and legislative standards

  • Liaising with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders

  • Demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn new systems and technologies

  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW Electrical Licence (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Whtie Card

  • Current Drivers Licence

  • Ability to work at heights

  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

  • Commitment to safety, teamwork and high-quality workmanship

This role offers a talented, highly organised and energetic individual the opportunity to apply their skills within a responsive, professional organisation committed to best practice. Success in this position will require flexibility, initiative and a practical, solutions-focused approach.

If you’re seeking a new opportunity with a reputable civil maintenance company, where you can further develop your expertise in a high-demand field, supported by ongoing training and development, we would love to hear from you.
