We are seeking an experienced Power Generation Electrician to join #TeamDecon, supporting our Facilities Asset Management team based out of Scoresby.
About the Role
As a Power Generation Electrician, you will play a key role in the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of power generation systems across Australia.
This is a field-based position that supports both project delivery and service response activities. You will work closely with Project Managers, field teams and clients to ensure safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes across a range of installations and servicing activities.
In this role, you will:
Install, commission, test, maintain and service power generation systems
Perform electrical installation and integration activities, including PLC programming, generator controls, switchboards and harness wiring
Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs across PLC systems, control systems and associated electrical infrastructure
Respond to breakdowns and provide field servicing, refuelling and technical support
Participate in a rostered on-call system and respond to after-hours call-outs
Travel regularly to project sites across metropolitan, regional and interstate locations
Assist with manufacturing, construction, installation and workshop activities
Coordinate daily field assignments in conjunction with Project Managers
Order and manage materials required to support project delivery
Inspect completed works to ensure compliance with specifications and safety requirements
Complete required documentation, testing records and reporting in a timely manner
Report technical issues, risks and recurring faults while identifying practical solutions
Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, clients and suppliers
Provide technical advice, mentoring and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful, you will have:
Demonstrated experience as an Electrician in industrial, commercial or power generation environments
Strong electrical fault-finding capability
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Understanding of the interface between electrical and mechanical systems
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A proactive attitude with a strong commitment to safety
The ability to work independently in field environments
Sound Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel)
Experience with power generation systems, solar or battery storage systems is highly regarded but not essential
Essential Requirements
Current A Grade Electrical Licence
Unrestricted driver’s licence
Construction White Card
Working at Heights (preferred)
Diesel Mechanic/Fitter qualification (highly regarded)
