The Location and Lifestyle:
Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75 kms from the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland where the Daintree Forest meets the Great Barrier Reef. The Mt Carbine Tungsten mine is 120km North of Cairns International Airport via sealed highway. Neighbouring the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway, The Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine is central to Mossman, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy. For those with families, there is a choice of private and public schools, as well as universities and technical education facilities in the area.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrician to join our team. This role involves meeting the physical demands of the position and working in challenging environments, including lifting, pushing, pulling, working at heights, and performing other tasks associated with manual labour. A strong commitment to safety is essential, particularly when working within an operational mine site environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical inspections, preventative maintenance and recording defects and corrective actions
Execution of planned and unplanned breakdown maintenance
Troubleshooting, calibrating, repair and service of fixed plant electrical assets
Examine drawings or specifications to determine work methods, sequence of activities
Manage electrical risks so they are eliminated so far as is reasonably practicable.
Ensuring compliance with the Electrical Safety Act 2002; the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 and associated codes of practice.
Key Selection Criteria:
Trade qualified with current Qld Electrical Licence (Essential)
LVR / CPR
Current drivers licence
Minimum of 3 years in a similar field
Expertise in using Allen Bradley Control Logic PLC
Mechanical aptitude
Self motivated with excellent problem solving skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the Company
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
Highly organized with strong time management and communications skills to manage competing and/or changing priorities
Experienced with MS office, Word and Excel
Additional Requirements for Working at Mt Carbine Retreatment Pty Ltd:
The ability to pass a pre-employment medical
Australian Criminal History Check
Need to live within 100 km radius of Mt Carbine Mine (this is not a FIFO position)
