About You – Skills & Experience

We are seeking a motivated, safety-focused Telecommunications Technician, or Electrician to join our established Projects Team supporting Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) and site-based technology deployments across surface mining operations. This is a full-time opportunity available for immediate start, with the successful candidates becoming a fully integrated member of a high-performing team.

Essential Requirements – Telecommunications, Electrician

Experience

You will hold one of the following trade qualifications:

• Certificate III in Telecommunications, or

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician

And you will have (or be willing to obtain):

• Current QLD Electrical Licence (where applicable)

• Ability to attain a QLD Security CCTV Installer Licence

• Current ACMA Cabler Registration, including:

  • Structured cabling

  • Optical fibre cabling

  • Coaxial cabling

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working on surface mining operations within Australia

• Experience performing on-site installations and support in mining or heavy industrial environments

• Strong commitment to safety in both field and office environments

• Ability to read and interpret:

  • Mechanical drawings

  • Electrical schematics

  • Electronic circuit diagrams

• Basic mechanical aptitude for conceptualising mounting hardware, brackets and equipment housings

• C Class Driver’s Licence

Technical Skills & Experience – Mining Technology & Communications

Core Technical Skills

• Install and configuration of wireless networks

• Install and configuration of Rajant Mesh/ Cambium wireless Point to Point (PtP) and Point to Multipoint systems (PtMP) or similar

• Install and configuration of radio and communications systems including UHF, VHF and FM

• Install and configuration of radio / TETRA and general communications equipment

• Testing, termination and splicing of fibre optic cables

• Coaxial cable termination and testing

• Assemble, configure, test and stage systems prior to deployment

• Ability to configure and integrate third-party devices and hardware

Preferred (Not Mandatory — Training Provided)

The following qualifications or certifications will be highly regarded but are not mandatory:

• Rajant RCNA (Rajant Certified Network Associate)

• Cisco CCNA (or equivalent networking certification)

• Cambium 450 / 820 / 850 Administrator certifications

• Milestone XProtect technical certification or equivalent CCTV/VMS experience

• Other OT, wireless, networking or industrial technology certifications

Note: Training and certification pathways will be supported for the right candidate.

Work Conditions & Roster

• This is a hybrid role combining work from home and onsite project work across client and mine sites throughout Australia.

  • Work from home for planning, configuration, documentation, and project support activities.

  • Regular travel and onsite work required for installations, commissioning, maintenance, and project delivery.

  • Onsite work will be scheduled through project rosters and may include FIFO/DIDO, regional travel, weekend work and swing coverage for onsite Staff leave requirements.

  • Flexibility to support project and client requirements is essential.

  • Travel, accommodation, and site access arrangements will be provided in accordance with company policy.
