About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the inspection, fault finding, repair, and maintenance of diesel-electric locomotives and associated systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical fault finding and diagnostics on locomotives
• Maintenance and repair of locomotive electrical systems
• Troubleshooting control circuits, wiring, and onboard electronics
• Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals
• Completing maintenance documentation and reporting
• Working safely in accordance with rail industry standards and procedures

 

Requirements:

• A-Grade Electrical Licence (or equivalent state electrical licence)
• Previous experience working on locomotives, rollingstock, heavy mobile equipment, mining equipment, or similar
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Rail experience preferred but not essential
• Able to pass a CAT 1 rail medical
• Dogging and forklift high desired
