The Company

Our client is a well established mine site plant and camp construction company that builds mine sites predominately in Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory. They are currently seeking Grade A Electricians, HV Electricians, Instrument Technicians & Electrical Fitters for electrical construction and commissioning of all Electrical infrastructure across Power Generation, Electrical Distribution, Processing Plant, Switch Rooms and Site Facilities.     

 

Project Time Frames & Working Rosters

The project is based out of Karratha flying from Perth.

  • Project Duration: 3 to 6+ months (Potential for additional work depending on project)

  • FIFO Base: Out of Perth Airport 

  • FIFO Rosters: 3&1

 

The Role

Our client is seeking Grade A Electricians for a large site project that is currently under construction and at the stage where all Electrical Infrastructure construction is currently underway.  Electricians will be working in the following areas;

  • Power Generation

  • Electrical Distribution

  • Processing Plant

  • Control Rooms

  • Switch Rooms

  • Instrumentation

  • Site Facilities

  • HVAC

  • Telemetry Systems

  • Lighting

  • Security     

Electrical work will vary depending on the plant sector where the work will cover commercial and industrial Electrical work. 

Electricians maybe working on site facilities such as offices or crib rooms where it is a standard electrical fit out of lights, GPO, HVAC, CCTV and data caballing.

Other Electricians maybe assigned to switch rooms where they will be terminating cable and carrying out intensive testing procedures on very complex and control and power distribution infrastucture.

The main responsibilities of electricians will include;

  • Interpreting Electrical Line Drawings

  • Interpreting Electrical Panel Layouts

  • Testing - Working off comprehensive Testing Procedures, Point to Point, Insulation & Earth Continuity to name a few

  • Fitting & Terminating Electrical Components – Process Plant to Facilities

  • Fitting & testing Instrumentation

  • Labelling, Glanding & Terminating

  • Fitting Cable Trays & Running Cable

 

The Candidate

We are seeking the following Electrical Trades with relevant Australian Qualifications.

  • Grade A Electricians

  • HV Electricians

  • Instrumentation Technicians

  • Electrical Fitters

  • Dual – Grade A & Instrument Techs

Ideally, we are looking for Electricians that have at least 1 year experience working on remote site construction projects in mining or oil & gas.

Candidates with Industrial experience that have worked on the following are encouraged to apply;

  • Site Power Distribution Infrastructure

  • Switch Rooms

  • Control Panels – Small or Large

  • HVAC Systems

  • Instrumentation Fitting

  • Testing & Completing detailed Reports across all Electrical Systems

In addition, you will be able to or possess the following;

  • Have excellent English communication skills – verbal & written

  • Be a team player that enjoys contributing to a shared goal

  • Be highly organized and able to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at the same time

  • Have a “pro-active” work attitude, possessing initiative and good problem-solving skills

  • Be able to commit to at least 3 months work on a FIFO basis

  • Live in the Perth Metro Area

  • Be able to pass a standard mine site physical

  • Be able to pass regular drug & alcohol screens

  • Be able to complete standard safety and site inductions

  • Be familiar with mine site safety & carrying daily requirements such as Take 5’s

 

Remuneration & Employment Type

All Electricians will be employed directly by our client on a casual basis where all site workers will be designated a job classification which will depend on your qualifications where you will receive a base hourly rate as well as numerous allowances and benefits.  The pay rate calculated on an hourly rate including benefits and allowance (apart from Super) will be between the following;

  • $90.00 to $95.00 Per Hour (Inclusive of all allowance & benefits)

  • + Super on Ordinary Hours

  • + OT Rates when applicable
