Plant Mechanic and Auto Electrician

Affleck’s Mining Solutions (AMS) has been individually owned and operated in the Upper Hunter Area for 3 years now. AMS has now secured work across multiple sites in the Hunter Valley area. As such, the company is continuing to expand, and we are looking for likeminded and career driven individuals to fill these positions. 

We have Multiple roles for Plant Mechanics & Auto Electricians.

About The Role

There are multiple Fulltime roles available in the Singleton and Muswellbrook areas offering various rotating rosters. 

The roles will consist of the completion of field service, breakdowns, shutdowns, rebuilds, diagnosing and general repairs on various large excavators and open cut machines. The applicant must be able to work overtime on occasions as well completing tasks both independently and competently across various sites. 

• Lifestyle crew positions 

• Field Service Roster Positions (Multiple sites)

• Excavator Shutdowns

• Open cut machinery midlife's and component change out

• Rebuild crew positions

• Workshop overtime (Rutherford) 

Essential criteria:

• Committed to safety in the work area

• Certificate of proficiency/trade - Cert III Mobile Plant

• Certificate of proficiency/trade - Cert III / Auto Electrical

• Highly recommended experience on large mining excavators

• Highly recommended experience on Komatsu, Caterpillar, Liebherr and Hitachi machines

• Candidate must have their own tools for the role

• Current driver's license

• Must be available for OT on occasions 

• Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised

• 3 years post trade open cut mining experience

• Extensive knowledge on ET and SIS programming

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on earthmoving equipment, trucks and cars

• Field service work, including breakdowns and scheduled repairs

• Building and installing custom canopy electrical packages

• Fitting site compliant electrical accessories

• Service vehicle and machine fit outs

• Air conditioning service, diagnostics, repairs and installs
