About the Role
Master Drilling Australia continue to dominate the industry, and we are now in seek of experienced underground Electricians to join our onsite team in the Goldfields, Western Australia. Reporting into the Project Supervisor you will be committed to the safe operations of our raise bore fleet and equipment whilst committed to the high standards of respect and safety we have set for ourselves and each other.
Please note: This role is offered on a 2 week on and 2 weeks off, day/night shift roster and for the preferred candidate and we will consider mobilisation from any Australian capital city.
About the Role
Maintenance, fault-finding, and installation of underground reticulation (1000V/415V), substations, switchboards, RMUs, motors, VSDs, lighting, dewatering and ventilation systems
Preventative and breakdown maintenance on underground mobile equipment including production & Raisebore drills, and loaders
Installation, testing, and maintenance of RCT tele remote systems
HV/LV switching, statutory testing (RCDs, earth leakage), and compliance with AS/NZS standards
Maintaining electrical schematics, logs, and maintenance records
Creating a safe and healthy work environment on the job and managing risks to an acceptable level.
Ensuring that all preventive and statutory inspections are completed within the scheduled weekly timeframe, and requests for further maintenance work are enacted.
Carrying out breakdown repairs to electrical equipment as required.
Organise electrical maintenance planning process by scoping jobs and providing quantity estimates for labour, parts and materials.
Providing electrical knowledge, personal drive and ability to maintain standards that support the safe and efficient drilling operations.
Adhering to relevant regulations and safety standards
Implement, manage, and maintain the company's latest PLC systems and other technologies.
About You
Trade Qualified - Cert III in Electrotechnology and Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control
WA Unrestricted Electrical Licence
Solid experience working within an underground mining environment
Strong fault-finding and schematic interpretation skills
HV Switching Ticket - Essential
PLC Experience
Ability to operate machinery and power tools
Knowledge of safe working practices
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a team with a demonstrated ability to manage one’s own time
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Additional Requirements
Current Manual C Class WA Driver’s Licence
LVR / CPR Certification
EEHA Training (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas) - Current and or Willing to Obtain
Provide First Aid HLTAID011 - Current
Working at Heights (Desirable)
Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
Ability to successfully complete Pre-Employment Medical including drug and alcohol
Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance (less than 6months old)
