Electrical Engineer – Critical Minerals Project | Julia Creek, QLD

Our client, a leading critical mineral refining organisation, is seeking an Electrical Engineer based in Julia Creek, Queensland.

As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for electrical engineering development across the project lifecycle, including engineering design, construction support, commissioning, risk and opportunity management, and preparation of tender packages.

You will work closely with electrical, structural, mechanical, process and mining teams to ensure best-for-project outcomes, delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical engineering design and troubleshooting of power, instrumentation and control systems
  • Testing, commissioning and maintenance support
  • PLC programming (preferably Rockwell Allen-Bradley and Siemens)
  • Programming/updating Rockwell PlantPAx DCS and VSDs
  • Network support including switches, servers and virtual machines
  • Electrical design and drafting (Bentley and/or AutoCAD preferred)
  • Construction quality compliance and contractor supervision. Assisting with subcontractor engagement and management
  • Preparing technical documentation, reports, schematics and procurement packages. Developing cost estimates for variations
  • Maintaining project documentation, schedules and progress reporting
About You
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role (EPC, mining or industrial environments preferred)
  • Experience with control systems and networks (Rockwell Automation desirable)
  • Exposure to mining infrastructure highly regarded
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Current Driver’s Licence
