North Coast Telecommunication Services is a locally owned and operated company based in Lismore, NSW. We provide telecommunications, networking, and technology solutions to businesses and residential customers across the Northern Rivers region. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician with IT experience to join our team.

About the Role
This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications and IT systems for our customers. You will work across a range of technologies including data cabling, phone systems, internet services, and business networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems

• Structured data cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fibre where applicable)

• Installation and configuration of business phone systems (VoIP/PBX)

• Network setup and troubleshooting (routers, switches, WiFi)

• Internet service installation and fault finding

• On-site technical support for business and residential customers

• Documentation of installations and service work

Skills & Experience

• Experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role

• Strong IT and networking knowledge

• Experience with VoIP phone systems and network infrastructure

• Data cabling experience and structured cabling standards

• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Preferred (but not essential)

• Open Cabler Registration with endorsements

• Experience with NBN or fibre installations

• Experience with Ubiquiti, Draytek, Grandstream, TP-Link or similar networking equipment

• ACMA cabling licence
