The Lead Electrical Engineer ( CP Eng)oversees the end-to-end delivery of electrical engineering and design packages—from concept, feasibility, and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to detailed execution. This role requires advanced technical expertise across ELV, LV, and HV systems, hands-on design capabilities, and strong project management acumen.
Because the role requires RPEQ certification, the engineer is responsible for legally verifying and signing off on designs to ensure absolute compliance with Australian Standards, National Electricity Rules, and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Verification: Perform and check complex calculations, produce schematics, and design power distribution systems, substations, and protection schemes.
RPEQ Certification: Review, verify, and legally certify engineering designs, drawings, and reports for projects Australia wide.
Leadership & Mentorship: Lead project work packages, allocate tasks, manage multidisciplinary design teams, and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
Project & Commercial Management: Oversee project delivery against scope, budget, and schedules. Prepare technical specifications, tender documentation, and evaluate equipment/vendor packages.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and statutory authorities.
Site Support & Commissioning: Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases, including troubleshooting and constructability reviews.
