Electrical Engineers (Mid and Senior Level) – Perth

Paradigm Engineers is a Perth-based engineering consultancy delivering electrical, instrumentation, and control systems projects across mining, mineral processing, and infrastructure. We are part of the largest mining-focused electrical engineering / systems integrator in Australia, and we are growing our Perth team to meet a strong and expanding project pipeline.

Our current work spans greenfield and brownfield mining, materials handling, mineral processing, and port facilities, covering design, construction, commissioning, and optimisation.

The Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will take technical ownership of electrical design scope across varied and challenging projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Developing electrical designs for 415V MCCs and MV MCCs up to 6.6kV

  • Producing drawings including single lines, schematics, terminations/connections, PLC/network, equipment layouts, cable schedules, loops, and switchroom GAs

  • Performing calculations covering maximum demand, switchroom heat load, cable sizing, and arc flash

  • Preparing documentation such as scopes of work, procurement specifications, equipment schedules, datasheets, drawing registers, and maintenance manuals

  • Equipment and instrument selection

  • Applying functional safety principles

  • Coordinating drafting and project works

  • Conducting MCC, panel, and equipment inspections

  • Interfacing with vendors and clients to ensure compliance with project specifications

  • Assisting with the development of engineering and design effort-hour estimates

  • Participating in and promoting Safety in Design

 What We Are Looking For

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience in an Australian-based electrical engineering role (mining experience preferred)

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability

  • Clear and effective communication, both written and in person

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Keen eye for detail and a focus on quality and performance

  • Construction support and commissioning experience

Experience in mineral processing, bulk materials handling, mobile machines (stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders), or functional safety is advantageous, as is professional accreditation such as CPEng or RPEQ.
