About the role
Establish and provide supervision to the electrical engineering standards and procedures with reference to technical standards relevant to legislative requirements
Ensure compliance to the site electrical management plan by delivering and performing electrical engineering services that meet the business and technical requirements and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications
Carry out and/or supervise the development and review of the electrical engineering management plan.
Identify and report changes to the project scope.
Participate in the management of risk, including risk assessment processes.
Measure the effectiveness of the electrical engineering standards and procedures against the performance standards of the safety management system.
Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.
Lead the review of the existing engineering practices to understand where, when and how we can continuously improve.
Assist with the preparation of proposals, estimates, budgets, and schedules.
Assist with procurement, construction, and commissioning activities (Write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations)
Assist with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations, and reports.
Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in electrical engineering.
Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
As the Electrical Engineering Manager you will be based predominantly on site at the Commodore Mine in Millmerran, Queensland. Accommodation will be provided close to the mine, candidates will be provided a Company vehicle.
To be successful you will have:
Standard 11 industry induction training.
Current Australian Drivers Licence.
QLD Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme Assessment, and ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical.
QLD mining Supervisor qualifications including RIIRIS301 (S1), RIIWHS301 (S2), RIICOM301 (S3) and RIIRIS402 (G2).
Strong knowledge of surface extraction operations.
Qualifications to perform the function of Electrical Engineering Manager on a QLD Open Cut Coal Mine as nominated by the Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee
Extensive experience in Australian Mining, Minerals, or Metals
Experience generating engineering estimates and quotations.
Experience generating study reports, scopes of work, equipment specifications and datasheets.
Understanding the operations and maintenance of mining equipment
