Our client is a well established engineering consultancy who have been undertaking projects for the mining and minerals processing industry in Australia for more than 20 years. 

Currently they require a Principal/ Senior Electrical Engineer in their Brisbane office for an immediate start to undertake design of a feasibility study for an underground mine expansion in following areas:

Electrical & Power system design
  • Load list (by facility and equipment) and demand/diversity assessment
  • Preliminary single-line diagram (SLD)
  • HV/LV reticulation layout
  • Substation concept design
  • Earthing and lightning protection philosophy
  • UPS and critical services matrix (if applicable)
  • Solar/BESS concept sizing (if applicable)
  • Electrical equipment schedule
  • Mains cable schedule (lengths and sizing) for main reticulation pathways to modular assets
  • Typical power corridor section
 Communications infrastructure 
 
  • Passive network schematic
  • Fibre routing plan
  • Tower location and height study
  • Site Distributor requirement. Network Room layout
  • Passive hardware BOM
  Lighting Deliverables:
 
  • Lux level assumptions
  • Lighting Pole layout and General Arrangement
  • Lighting fixture schedule
  • Cable quantities
 CCTV & Access Control
 
  • Access control location points and network connectivity design
  • Power supply requirements and integration with CCTV
  • CCTV location points (indicative: entry/exit points, explosives area, AN yard, offices)
  • Camera schedule, cabling schedule, network/NPO integration
  • Storage requirement summary

You will need to hold RPEQ (Electrical) and be capable of executing all of the above independently and directing team members to produce required deliverables.  This is a four (4) month contract for a principal/senior engineer and the negotiated hourly rate should reflect that requirement.
