With over 50 years in business, this well-respected Engineering Consultancy is seeking to expand their team, bringing on a Principal Electrical Engineer to assist in the delivery of projects for a range of high-profile clients and builders across Aged Care, Healthcare, Commercial new build, Apartments and Fitout projects throughout Melbourne and wider Victoria

Your new role

• Deliver electrical engineering design for a range of projects, providing technical leadership across calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and other documentation, with the ability to contribute detailed design input when required.
  
• Act as project lead on assigned jobs, coordinating all aspects of services engineering design, drafting, and documentation to ensure successful delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  
• Oversee and review design outputs prior to tender, ensuring all work meets high quality standards and aligns with established engineering practices and project requirements.
  
• Represent the organisation in meetings with clients, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders, providing progress updates and offering broader technical guidance across related building services disciplines (e.g., Mechanical, Hydraulics, Fire).
  

What you'll need to succeed

• 5-7 years' experience delivering similar projects within the Australian market, demonstrating established industry connections and a solid understanding of local standards, regulations, and client expectations.
  
• Strong capability in delivering electrical engineering design across calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, and technical documentation, with the ability to provide informed engineering direction when needed.
  
• Proven experience leading and coordinating projects, including managing services engineering workflows, drafting, and documentation processes to ensure timely, efficient, and budget aligned delivery.
  
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to review, assess, and quality‑check design packages prior to tender, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with high engineering standards.
  
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, enabling you to confidently represent the business in meetings with clients, architects, project managers, and other consultants.
  
• A strong understanding of building services, allowing you to provide advice not only on electrical systems but also on related disciplines such as mechanical, hydraulic, and fire services.
