At Bentrol, we design and manufacture bespoke low voltage switchboards and modular switchrooms for projects across Australia and beyond. With two advanced manufacturing facilities in Bendigo and an office in Bundoora, we combine precision engineering, in‑house custom sheet metal fabrication, and leading‑edge control system integration to produce high‑quality, fully compliant systems. To support continued growth, we are seeking two Graduate Electrical Engineers to join our Switchboards division. These full‑time positions can be based in either Melbourne (Bundoora) or Bendigo.

These roles are suited to final‑year students nearing graduation or recent graduates with up to two years of relevant engineering experience.

Role Responsibilities

In these roles, you will gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of switchboard engineering. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for LV switchboards.

  • Preparing 2D general arrangement drawings in AutoCAD.

  • Supporting compliance activities and learning to apply relevant Australian Standards (including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439).

  • Contributing to component selection and layout design under the guidance of experienced engineers.

  • Producing accurate engineering documentation that supports estimating, manufacturing, and project delivery.

  • Participating in testing, verification, and quality assurance activities.

  • Collaborating with project managers, production teams, and other engineers to deliver reliable, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

  • Actively engaging in feedback, coaching, and continuous improvement as part of your professional development.

Requirements

To be successful in these graduate roles, you will have:

  • You may have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) or be in the final year of completing one.

  • We will also consider candidates with:

-Bachelor of Computer Science

-Bachelor of Engineering (Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics)

-Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering)

  • Up to two years of relevant engineering experience (including internships, placement work, or graduate roles).

  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms.

  • A foundational understanding of LV electrical theory.

  • An interest in PLC, SCADA, or automation systems (well regarded).

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.

  • Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability   to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • High attention to detail and a willingness to learn and apply feedback effectively.

  • Integrity, dependability, and a proactive, professional attitude.
