To support our continued growth, we are seeking a mid‑level Electrical Engineer to join our Switchboards division. This full‑time role is based in Bendigo.
This position is suited to an engineer with at least three years of industry experience - it is not suitable for new graduates.
Role Responsibilities
In this hands-on engineering role, you will contribute to all stages of switchboard design and delivery. Responsibilities include:
Developing and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for LV switchboards.
Preparing 2D general arrangement drawings in AutoCAD.
Performing calculations and ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards (including AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, SIRs).
Selecting appropriate components, materials, and configurations to meet performance and compliance requirements.
Working closely with the Estimating team by providing technical input for tender packages.
Supporting manufacturing processes with clear, accurate engineering documentation.
Conducting testing, verification, and validation of completed switchboards.
Assisting with quality control, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement activities across the division.
Collaborating with project managers, production teams, and other engineers to deliver reliable, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
Providing guidance, support, and technical assistance to junior engineers as part of their professional development.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical engineering, ideally with exposure to industrial systems or switchboards.
Strong knowledge of automation systems, industrial motor control, and LV electrical design.
Proficiency with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical required, PowerCAD desirable
A solid understanding of applicable Australian Standards.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality engineering outcomes.
