Electrical Engineer- Mid Level

To support our continued growth, we are seeking a mid‑level Electrical Engineer to join our Switchboards division. This full‑time role is based in Bendigo.

This position is suited to an engineer with at least three years of industry experience - it is not suitable for new graduates.

Role Responsibilities

In this hands-on engineering role, you will contribute to all stages of switchboard design and delivery. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for LV switchboards.

• Preparing 2D general arrangement drawings in AutoCAD.

• Performing calculations and ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards (including AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, SIRs).

• Selecting appropriate components, materials, and configurations to meet performance and compliance requirements.

• Working closely with the Estimating team by providing technical input for tender packages.

• Supporting manufacturing processes with clear, accurate engineering documentation.

• Conducting testing, verification, and validation of completed switchboards.

• Assisting with quality control, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement activities across the division.

• Collaborating with project managers, production teams, and other engineers to deliver reliable, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

• Providing guidance, support, and technical assistance to junior engineers as part of their professional development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical engineering, ideally with exposure to industrial systems or switchboards.

• Strong knowledge of automation systems, industrial motor control, and LV electrical design.  

• Proficiency with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical required, PowerCAD desirable

• A solid understanding of applicable Australian Standards.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
